Former Rajya Sabha MP, journalist and senior BJP chief Balbir Punj, 76, handed away on Saturday (April 18, 2026) night after struggling sickness for a while.
Mr. Punj, a former vp of the BJP and related to the RSS from a younger age, had a protracted profession in public life — in politics and coverage circles, and within the media. He started his profession as a journalist in 1971 with the newspaper The Motherlandlater serving for twenty years on the Monetary Categoricaland the as government editor of The Observer of Enterprise and Politics from Could 1996 to March 2000.
