India on Wednesday staunchly dismissed China’s repeated efforts to rename locations in Arunachal Pradesh, terming the train as “useless and preposterous,” and asserted that the northeastern state is a component and parcel of the nation. Replying to questions from media individuals, Ministry of Exterior Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal made a scathing comment, ruling out Beijing’s current renaming train.

“We’ve seen that China has continued with its useless and preposterous makes an attempt to call locations within the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh,” Jaiswal said. “According to our principled place, we reject such makes an attempt categorically.”

The MEA emphasised that such “inventive naming” efforts by China are unrelated to info or sovereignty.
