India has formally upgraded its Technical Mission in Kabul to the Embassy of India in Afghanistan, with instant impact, signalling a renewed dedication to strengthening bilateral ties.
The Ministry of Exterior Affairs (MEA) described the transfer as a transparent demonstration of India’s intent to deepen cooperation throughout all areas of mutual curiosity with Afghanistan.
“In keeping with the choice introduced throughout the current go to of the Afghan International Minister to India, the Authorities is restoring the standing of the Technical Mission of India in Kabul to that of Embassy of India in Afghanistan with instant impact,” the MEA assertion declared.
The Embassy will bolster India’s efforts in supporting Afghanistan’s complete growth, humanitarian help, and capacity-building programmes, reflecting the priorities and aspirations of Afghan society, the assertion added.
On 10 October, Exterior Affairs Minister S Jaishankar engaged in detailed talks with Afghan International Minister Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi in New Delhi, protecting a variety of shared considerations and vital regional developments.
Reaffirming India’s longstanding friendship with the Afghan individuals, Jaishankar emphasised the enduring cultural and historic bonds between the 2 nations. He reiterated India’s unwavering assist for the developmental aspirations of Afghanistan.
