A UPS airplane crashed shortly after takeoff on Tuesday round 5:15 p.m. native time after departing from Louisville Muhammad Ali Worldwide Airport in Kentucky, the Federal Aviation Administration stated.
UPS stated in a assertion that there have been three crewmembers on the airplane. “Presently, we have now not confirmed any accidents/casualties,” the corporate stated.
The Louisville Metro Police Division stated on X that it was implementing a shelter-in-place order close to the crash website and that accidents had been reported.
The rationale for the crash was not instantly identified. The airplane was a MD-11F, a kind of freight transport plane made by plane producer McDonnell Douglas, which merged with Boeing in 1997.

A big plume of black smoke was seen close to the airport, and photographs from native TV confirmed fireplace and particles in a big radius across the crash website.
The FAA stated the airplane was en path to Honolulu and that it and the Nationwide Transportation Security Board would examine the incident.
Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear stated “the scenario is critical” on X and that he was headed to Louisville.
The airport is house to the UPS Worldport, which the corporate says is its largest package deal dealing with facility on the planet. A whole bunch of UPS flights take off each day from Louisville, in response to the corporate.
