KSCA secretary, treasurer resign citing ‘ethical duty’ days after Bengaluru stampede

The secretary and treasurer of the Karnataka State Cricket Affiliation (KSCA) have resigned from their positions, days after the Bengaluru stampede. Secretary A Shankar and Treasurer ES Jairam have resigned, citing ‘ethical duty’ for the stampede outdoors the Chinnaswamy Stadium on Wednesday throughout Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s maiden IPL win.

“Because of the unexpected and unlucky occasions which have unfolded within the final two days, and although our function was very restricted, however owing ethical duty, we want to state that final evening now we have tendered our resignation to our respective posts as secretary and treasurer of the KSCA,” Shankar and Jairam wrote in a communication despatched to the KSCA on Friday evening.
