NEW DELHI: Shimla police have registered a case after a banner displaying Lord Rama aiming an arrow at a rubbish heap appeared close to the Himachal Pradesh Secretariat in Chhota Shimla. Advocate Bharat Bhushan, coordinator of the Dev Bhumi Sangharsh Samiti, filed a criticism alleging that the banner reportedly put up by the Shimla Municipal Company was offensive to Hindu beliefs. The complainant mentioned he feared that comparable banners may need been positioned in different elements of the town, which might additional upset the general public. Appearing on his criticism, police filed a case beneath Part 299 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, which offers with acts meant to outrage non secular emotions by insulting a faith or its beliefs.
