NEW DELHI: The defence ministry on Thursday authorised the acquisition of weapons and army tools value Rs 79,000 crore. The Defence Acquisition Council (DAC), chaired by defence minister Rajnath Singh, cleared the proposals at its assembly.In line with an official assertion from the ministry, the military acquired Acceptance of Necessity (AoN) for the procurement of the Nag Missile System (Tracked) Mk-II (NAMIS), Floor-Based mostly Cell ELINT System (GBMES), and Excessive Mobility Autos (HMVs) with Materials Dealing with Crane.” The procurement of NAMIS (Tracked) will improve the Indian Military’s functionality of neutralising enemy’s fight autos, bunkers & different area fortifications, whereas GBMES will present round the clock Digital Intelligence of enemy emitters,” the official assertion stated.For the navy, AoN was granted for the acquisition of Touchdown Platform Docks (LPD), 30mm Naval Floor Gun (NSG), Superior Gentle-Weight Torpedoes (ALWT), Electro-Optical Infra-Crimson Search and Observe System, and Sensible Ammunition for the 76mm Tremendous Fast Gun Mount.“The procurement of LPDs will assist the Indian Navy to undertake amphibious operations together with Indian Military and Indian Air Pressure. The built-in sea functionality supplied by LPD will even assist the Indian Navy to undertake peacekeeping operations, Humanitarian Help and Catastrophe Aid,” the assertion added.For the air power, AoN was accorded for the Collaborative Lengthy Vary Goal Saturation/Destruction System (CLRTS/DS) and different tasks.
