Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has instructed voters at Malegaon within the district that he would guarantee there is no such thing as a scarcity of funds for the city in the event that they elected the candidates of his social gathering, but when they rejected them, he can even “reject”.
Mr. Pawar, who heads the Nationalist Congress Social gathering, was campaigning for elections to the Malegaon Nagar Panchayat in Baramati tehsil on Friday (November 21, 2025).
Notably, he holds the finance portfolio within the BJP-NCP-Shiv Sena authorities.
“I’ll guarantee there is no such thing as a scarcity of funds for those who elect all 18 NCP candidates. When you elect all 18 candidates, I’m dedicated to offer no matter I’ve promised. However for those who reject, I can even reject. You’ve gotten votes, I’ve funds,” he mentioned.
The remarks drew flak from the Opposition, with Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Ambadas Danve accusing Mr. Energy of threatening voters.
“Funds are given from the taxes paid by the widespread individuals and never from Ajit Pawar’s home. If a frontrunner like Mr. Pawar is threatening voters, what’s the Election Fee doing?” he requested.
Elections to Nagar Panchayats are scheduled for December 2. The Mr. Pawar-led NCP and a BJP-backed panel have fashioned an alliance in Malegaon.
