Uttar Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer Navdeep Rinwa on Wednesday (December 10, 2025) mentioned the state has requested the Election Fee of India to grant two extra weeks to finish the Particular Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.
In a press assertion, Mr. Rinwa mentioned the extension was sought in order that district election officers can re-verify entries of deceased voters, those that have shifted to different areas, and voters who stay untraceable.
Based on him, 99.24% of enumeration kinds have been digitized to this point.
Of those, 18.85% — almost 2.91 crore entries — fall beneath the “unverified” class, comprising 1.27 crore voters who’ve completely shifted, round 45.95 lakh voters who’ve died, 23.69 lakh duplicate voters, 9.58 lakh who haven’t returned their kinds, and 84.73 lakh absent voters.
He mentioned over 80% of the kinds have been returned with signatures of voters or their members of the family. Mapping of the acquired kinds with the 2003 voter listing has crossed 76%.
Mr. Rinwa mentioned 14 districts, 132 meeting constituencies, and 1,43,509 polling stations have accomplished the digitisation.
He added that voters whose names are lacking from the 2025 roll ought to be assisted in submitting Type-6, whereas youth turning 18 on January 1, 2026, should even be inspired to register.
The CEO urged all acknowledged political events to help in verifying entries of deceased, migrated, absent, and duplicate voters.
