The Telugu Desam Social gathering (TDP) bagged Kalyandurgam Municipality on Thursday (December 11, 2025). The TDP councilor from the fifteenth ward, T. Goutami, received elected as the brand new chairperson of the Municipality, defeating Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Social gathering’s (YSRCP) councilor M. Lakshmanna.
Within the elections held in 2021, the YSRCP bagged the Municipality and its councilor from the tenth ward, Talari Rajkumar, was unanimously elected because the chairperson. Mr. Rajkumar was a petty businessman who used to promote papaya and different fruits on a roadside pushcart. The YSRCP made him contest the election and made him the chairperson.
