Tamil Nadu authorities to seek the advice of events on November 6 for drafting SOP on political rallies, conferences

The Tamil Nadu authorities has referred to as for a session of political events for drafting a Normal Working Process (SOP) for the conduct of political conferences and rallies within the State. It has invited representatives of political events acknowledged by the Election Fee of India and people represented within the State Legislature Meeting and within the Parliament for the session scheduled in Chennai on Thursday (November 6, 2025).

Senior Ministers would preside over the session scheduled on the Secretariat premises in Chennai on November 6, an official launch issued by the Tamil Nadu authorities on Monday (November 3), mentioned. Chief Secretary N. Muruganandam was dispatching invites to political get together leaders involved to participate within the session.

Following a stampede at actor Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam rally in Karur on September 27 by which 41 individuals died, Chief Minister MK Stalin had on October 4 introduced that consultations can be held with consultants and representatives of political events, amongst others, to formulate a complete SOP to forestall such incidents.
