Tamil Nadu authorities deputies SDRF groups to Thoothukudi, Tirunelveli districts over heavy rain prediction

In view of the climate advisory predicting heavy rains in a number of districts, the Tamil Nadu authorities has deputed three groups of State Catastrophe Response Pressure (SDRF) to Thoothukudi and Tirunelveli districts.

The India Meteorological Division (IMD) has predicted heavy rains in Cuddalore, Ariyalur, Mayiladuthurai, Nagapattinam, Tiruvarur, Thanjavur, Pudukottai, Sivaganga, Madurai, Virudhunagar and Ramanathapuram districts, an official launch mentioned.

The State authorities has instructed Collectors of those districts to make sure that precautionary measures are taken, in view of the climate advisory. Whereas two SDRF groups have been deputed to Thoothukudi district, one SDRF staff has been positioned in Tirunelveli district.
