Sedam BEO assistant caught by Karnataka Lokayukta taking bribe to launch pension advantages

Officers of the Karnataka Lokayukta arrested a First Division Assistant (FDA) hooked up to the workplace of the Block Schooling Officer (BEO) in Sedam in Kalaburagi district for allegedly taking bribe from a complainant.

In line with the knowledge shared by Siddaraju, Superintendent of Police (Lokayukta), the accused, Shivalingappa, had allegedly demanded ₹28,500 from complainant Afridi, a resident of Mohalla Maidan in Yadgir metropolis, for processing the post-retirement pension advantages of his mom, Razak Begum.

Afridi approached the Lokayukta police and lodged a criticism. A workforce led by Arunkumar Muragundi, Police Inspector, Lokayukta caught the accused when he allegedly acquired ₹25,000 by means of UPI.

Lokayukta officers confirmed {that a} case has been registered below the Prevention of Corruption Act. The accused will likely be produced earlier than the jurisdictional court docket and remanded to judicial custody, they added.
