The Ernakulam Rural police organized counseling periods for practically 30 individuals reportedly hooked on medication as a part of the continued efforts to deal with drug menace. The periods had been led by medical practitioners and counsellors.
Those that attended the periods included youths and college students, sources mentioned. In the meantime, the agricultural police have intensified their anti-drug marketing campaign by extending the ‘Udayam’ marketing campaign of the Kochi Metropolis police to their limits. The marketing campaign goals to forestall drug abuse amongst youths and college students. The year-long marketing campaign was inaugurated by Industries Minister P. Rajeeve in Aluva on Thursday (October 30).
Consciousness periods for college kids, dad and mom, and lecturers have been deliberate as a part of the Udayam marketing campaign. This system will run parallel to the Mission Punarjani initiative of the agricultural police that focuses on curbing drug abuse amongst migrant inhabitants.
