Meghalaya Chief Secretary Shakeel Ahamed provided a heat reception to a bunch of tribal artistes from Kerala who visited him at Shillong on Friday. The workforce reached Shillong after their arrival within the Northeast to carry out on the Hornbill Pageant in Nagaland.
Among the many 15-member tribal workforce have been 5 tribal culinary artistes, 5 tribal musicians and 5 tribal scientific consultants. Mr. Ahamed, a Malayali, interacted with the tribal members in Malayalam.
The artistes are from totally different tribal areas throughout the State. They’re chosen for the Hornbill Pageant by the Union Ministry of Tribal Affairs. They’d current varied cultural applications on the competition.
In addition they visited Assam and carried out their distinctive cultural artwork varieties. Their first program was at Cotton College, Assam. Later, they offered the applications on the Assam Tribal Analysis Institute and on the banks of the Brahmaputra.
The tribal workforce included State-award profitable singer Nanjiyamma, Chikki Mallan, KS Mallan, Sulochana Kani, Chyemi Cheenkiral, and Thankamani Kalan.
Officers of the Kerala Institute for Analysis, Coaching and Improvement Research of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (KIRTADS) additionally accompanied the tribal workforce.
