Parliament on Thursday (April 3, 2026) handed a invoice to amend 784 provisions in 79 central legal guidelines for decriminalizing and rationalizing minor offenses to additional enhance the nation’s enterprise surroundings.

The Jan Vishwas (Modification of Provisions) Invoice, 2026, was handed within the Rajya Sabha with a voice vote after Commerce and Trade Minister Piyush Goyal replied to a dialogue on the laws.

The Minister mentioned the laws will assist residents and MSMEs.

The Invoice was handed by the Lok Sabha on Wednesday (April 1).

These legal guidelines are administered by 23 ministries, together with coal, commerce and trade, delivery, city improvement, and transport. Out of 784, 717 provisions are being amended for decriminalising minor offenses and 67 to facilitate ease of residing.
