The police have registered a case towards a mortgage app, InstaPay, in reference to the demise of Anjarakandy Kannur Dental School pupil Nithin Raj RL, invoking stringent authorized provisions as allegations of harassment and institutional lapses mount and campus unrest continues.

The Chakkarakkal police in Kerala registered the case beneath Part 308 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Part 13 of the Kerala Cash Lenders Act, 1958, and Part 9(1)(a) and 9(2) of the Kerala Prohibition of Charging Exorbitant Curiosity Act, 2012.
