The Hindu Non secular Establishments and Charitable Endowments Division on Tuesday issued a round directing the temples working beneath its jurisdiction to conduct Gau Puja (cow worship) on the event of Balipadyami on Wednesday as a part of Deepavali festivities in Karnataka.
The round, dated October 21, said that Gau Puja could be noticed on the day of Deepavali (Balipadayami) in all notified temples coming beneath the purview of the division within the State.
“Within the Hindu religion, the cow, revered as cow mom (mom), holds a particular and sacred standing. On this regard, and to lift public consciousness concerning the significance and safety of cows, which kind an integral a part of India’s non secular and cultural heritage, temples have been requested to wash the cows, embellish them with turmeric, vermilion, and flowers, provide Gograsa (a combination of rice, jaggery, fruits, and so forth.), and conduct the Gau Pooja ceremony within the night to mark the event,” the round added.
