Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Wednesday (April 8, 2026) questioned the end result of the latest US-Iran ceasefire, asking what the US achieved after practically 40 days of battle.

Reacting to media stories of the reopening of the strategically important Strait of Hormuz as a part of the truce, Mr. Abdullah remarked that the passage was already “open and freely obtainable” earlier than the struggle started.
