JAMMU: J&Okay Police have arrested a middle-aged Sikh man in Samba district for allegedly desecrating the Guru Granth Sahib.Police stated the alleged “sacrilegious act” was carried out by Manjit Singh alias Billa of Koulpur village in Ramgarh at a neighborhood gurdwara. He allegedly used some inflammable oil to set ablaze the holy textual content late Tuesday evening, sparking widespread protests by the Sikh group, a police officer stated.An FIR had been registered beneath related authorized provisions and additional investigation was occurring, cops stated.Jammu IG Shiv Kumar Sharma appealed to the Sikh group to cooperate with police and never hearken to rumours.
