IIT Madras and Indian Railways Finance Company (IRFC) have joined palms to launch the nation’s first Single Cell Omics Translational (SCOT) Analysis Laboratory on Monday.
A press launch acknowledged that the lab would facilitate analysis on early analysis, illness prognosis, biomarker discovery, and drug screening throughout a spectrum of ailments, together with most cancers, cardiovascular, infectious, inflammatory, metabolic, and different non-communicable ailments.
The IRFC has sanctioned a ₹ 10.83-crore grant as a part of its CSR initiative to ascertain the lab inside IIT Madras’ Division of Medical Sciences and Know-how. The power was launched within the presence of V. Kamakoti, Director, IIT Madras, Usha Venugopal, Member (Finance), Railway Board, Manoj Kumar Dubey, Chairman and Managing Director, IRFC, and Ashwin Mahalingam, Dean (Alumni and Company Relations), IIT Madras.
