Senior Congress chief and former Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat on Saturday (October 18, 2025) had a slim escape after his automobile met with an accident in Uttar Pradesh‘s Meerut district, officers stated.
Superintendent of Police (Site visitors), Raghavendra Mishra, informed PTI that the accident occurred between 7:30 pm and eight pm on NH-58 close to Kharoli, when Mr. Rawat’s convoy was touring from Delhi to Dehradun.

The previous Chief Minister escaped unharmed, whereas a head constable touring within the escort automobile suffered minor accidents, Mr. Mishra stated.
Native Congress chief Chaudhary Yashpal Singh additionally stated that Mr. Rawat was protected and the immediate motion by police prevented a significant mishap.
