With 90 villages throughout numerous taluks in Dharwad district recognized as water-stressed, the Dharwad district administration has signed agreements with house owners of 186 personal borewells to make sure water provide throughout emergencies in summer time.

Chairing a gathering with officers in Dharwad on Thursday (April 2), Deputy Commissioner Snehal R. stated that each one vital steps had been taken upfront to make sure that there isn’t any shortage of ingesting water or primary infrastructure for the general public.

She defined that as disruptions in ingesting water provide had been reported in 14 villages of the district, vital precautionary measures had been taken and water is being equipped by regionally obtainable personal borewells.

In Dharwad taluk, out of 115 villages, 30 had been recognized as water-scarce. After tying up with house owners of 60 personal borewells, water is being equipped to Hosatti, Mandihal, Belur, Mugad, Managundi, and Shibaragatti villages, she stated.

Equally, in Hubballi taluk, 19 out of 46 villages had been recognized as water-scarce, and the administration has tied up with house owners of 30 borewells.

In Kalaghatagi taluk, 16 out of 87 villages had been recognized as water-scarce and the administration has tied up with house owners of 46 personal borewells.

The Deputy Commissioner stated that ingesting water is being equipped by 16 personal borewells in 14 villages within the district.

This aside, 48 personal borewells have been recognized for 9 villages in Kundgol taluk and two borewells for 4 villages in Alnavar taluk.

The Deputy Commissioner additionally stated the administration has made preparations to make the most of lakes and different water our bodies in Navalgund, Annigeri, and Hubballi city taluks to handle any future shortage.
