AIADMK common secretary and Chief of the Opposition, Edappadi Ok. Palaniswami, on Friday (April 17, 2026) dismissed as “pointless melodrama” Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK president MK Stalin’s protest in opposition to the Delimitation Invoice and criticism in opposition to his social gathering that by supporting the legislative measure, the AIADMK was “betraying the pursuits” of the State.

In a dialog with The Hindu At his residence in Nedunchalai Nagar in Salem, Mr. Palaniswami identified that on the ground of Parliament on Thursday (April 16), Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister for Residence Affairs Amit Shah clarified their place on delimitation. Mr. Modi had reiterated the reassurance that “no injustice” can be meted out to any State, whereas Mr. Shah had given an in depth clarification. “But, he (Mr. Stalin) claims what Mr. Amit Shah says must be written in water. Ought to we write on flowing water what he (Mr. Stalin) says?” the AIADMK chief questioned.
