A BJP delegation, led by Chief of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari, visited the workplace of the West Bengal Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) in Kolkata on Monday (December 1, 2025), triggering loud protests by members of a Sales space Stage Officer (BLO) discussion board, who’ve been demonstrating there over alleged extreme workload through the ongoing Particular Intensive Revision (SIR) train, a senior officer stated.
As Mr. Adhikari, accompanied by a number of BJP MLAs, arrived on the CEO’s workplace to fulfill officers, protesting members of the BLO Adhikar Raksha Committee began shouting slogans and tried to breach police barricades, he stated.
They’ve been demanding reduction from “extreme workload” by extending the SIR deadline by one other two months and compensation for the subsequent of kin of deceased BLOs,
The protests continued whilst Mr. Adhikari and different BJP MLAs entered the workplace to fulfill Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Manoj Kumar Agarwal and Particular Roll Observer Subrata Gupta.
Officers stated the BJP delegation was scheduled to lift issues associated to the continuing Particular Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls within the State.
