Pakistan: Political Events Protest In opposition to twenty seventh Constitutional Modification Empowering Asim Munir


Islamabad: Severely criticising the twenty seventh Constitutional Modification, the joint opposition alliance of Tehreek Tahaffuz-e-Ayeen-Pakistan (TTAP) carried out a protest rally from Parliament Home to the Supreme Courtroom in Islamabad, on Tuesday. The alliance leaders mentioned that they’d observe a nationwide ‘Black Day’ on Friday to protest towards what it termed as “ongoing constitutional violations” in Pakistan, native media reported. 

Talking to reporters, TTAP alliance member Allama Raja Nasir Abbas mentioned that the march showcased their battle for the “safety” of the Structure. He mentioned, “We walked from parliament to the Supreme Courtroom to focus on how all avenues of justice have been closed for the folks of Pakistan,” Pakistan-based Geo Information reported.

Allama Abbas acknowledged that freedom of expression is being “suppressed” in Pakistan. “Individuals have been silenced, basic human rights are being violated, and we won’t stay quiet so long as we reside,” he mentioned.

The TTAP’s protest rally comes after Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari signed the twenty seventh Constitutional Modification Invoice on November 13, which was earlier authorised by each homes of Parliament. After his approval, the invoice has now turn out to be a part of the structure.
