CBI registers FIR in opposition to ex-Punjab DGP, his spouse in reference to their son’s dying

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Thursday (November 6, 2025) registered a case to probe the alleged homicide of Aqil Akhter, son of former Punjab Director-Basic of Police (DGP) Mohammad Mustafa.

“The FIR was registered on the allegations that Aqil Akhter, son of Mohammad Mustafa, former DGP Punjab, and Razia Sultana, former PWD Minister, Punjab, and presently residing at Sector 4, close to Mansa Devi Mandir, Panchkula, had died below suspicious circumstances on October 16, 2025,” stated the CBI.

In accordance with the company, there was simmering discontent between Aqil Akhter and his household. On August 27, he had posted a video on social media whereby he purportedly acknowledged that “he had found illicit relations between his father and his personal spouse, and additional talked about that his total household, together with his mom and sister, have been conspiring to kill him or to implicate him in a false case”.

The Haryana authorities requested the Middle at hand over the probe to the CBI. The case was earlier registered on the Mansa Devi Advanced, District Panchkula, Haryana.

Following a notification from the Division of Personnel and Coaching, the CBI registered the case in opposition to Mr. Mustafa, Ms. Sultana, the sister, and the spouse of the deceased, stated the company.

As reported earlier, Aqil died attributable to a suspected drug overdose. “It’s clearly (a) case of foul play.
