The Directorate of Income Intelligence (DRI) has arrested two cleansing employees at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Worldwide Airport, for allegedly attempting to smuggle foreign-origin gold valued at ₹1.6 crore, officers stated on Sunday (October 19, 2025).

Investigations point out a smuggling syndicate that used worldwide passengers to hide gold within the plane on arrival, which was later retrieved by the airport employees with insider entry, an official stated.
